This is the green (unroasted) form of our limited-edition Colombian Geisha — from the Agudelo Uribe family at El Refugio Estate in Villamaría, Caldas, grown at 1,750–2,050 metres on volcanic soils in the shadow of the Ruiz Volcano. Washed on a low-water-use Ecomill and scoring 87.5 SCA points, this is the same exceptional lot behind our roasted El Refugio Geisha — sold raw for home and small-batch roasters who want full control over the roast.

Roasted, this lot produces lemon zest, mango, buttery notes and black tea. We roast it light ourselves — a good starting point if you're developing your own profile.

Roasting This Coffee

We roast this lot light to preserve its delicate citrus acidity and tea-like character — a good starting point, though as with any Geisha it rewards careful profiling. Being grown at altitude, it's a denser bean than a typical lowland Arabica, so allow a little extra time to develop through the roast rather than rushing it. Give the beans at least 24 hours to rest and degas after roasting before brewing.
