Roast profile:
Especially roasted for espresso machines. We use a longer roast time to reduce acidity and increase sweetness.
The producers:
This coffee comes from the Doondu estate in the Kiambu region of Kenya. Workers of the estate are paid above the minimum wage and provided with other benefits such as free housing.
Processing
After harvesting, the highest-grade cherries are selected for processing. The cherries are placed in airtight bags to ferment for three days. The fermented cherries are then dried in the sun on beds until ready for hulling and final processing.
The region
Doondu estate, near the bustling city of Nairobi, has a long tradition of producing exceptional arabica coffee. Situated close to the equator and boasting high altitude and iron-rich, semi-volcanic soil, this coffee is sure to delight with its unique and rich flavors.
